This animal diversified from the main lemur lineage as the first one, so it can really represent a morphology typical for the first primates. That means, that tail for example is quite ordinary if you look at the vertebrae, so the hind limbs. Moreover, now we know that Aye-aye is not so highly specialized for gathering only one type of food or exploiting only one type of enviroment, but it is quite opportunistic. Therefore you can point out the contrast between extreme adaptations and other, quite ordinary features of the skeleton.
Kind regards,
MatejMatej Dolinayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03786905207812976958noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2992405496318219011.post-77916973314871466772013-01-19T22:20:34.418+01:002013-01-19T22:20:34.418+01:00Hello,

I have already talked about its skull and fingers but am looking for information about the rest of the skull (spin, hind legs etc...) I am particularly interested in information about its tail as it is very long and probably has a function, but I cannot seem to find it. Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Many Thanks

Charlotte Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
